When looking for an appraiser, experience and credentials count! B J Naranjo-Smith is a 20 plus year member of the International Society of Appraisers and, as a Certified member, she has attained the highest level of education offered by the organization. ISA is recognized as one of the foremost Appraisal educators in the United States and Canada.

The use of a Certified appraiser does not necessarily equal higher appraiser costs, but can result in a better settlement for the user in most cases. Appraisals are done for estates, divorce division, charitable contribution, resale value, damage and insurance acquisition. Knowing the value of the contents of your home and insuring for the correct amount can give a home owner peace of mind and see them through an equitable settlement in the event of a natural disaster.

Never accept an appraisal that looks like a grocery list! I.e., four chairs; two sofas; three paintings; jewelry etc. An appraisal should contain descriptive detail and photographs and the appraiser's research to determine the highest and best value.

Consultations can be arranged and an estimate given for appraisals. Corporate references can be given, but personal appraisals are always confidential.
